The whole coast, all to themselves
There's a stretch of West Vancouver shoreline where the city finally lets go.
Granite points drop straight into the sea, islands scatter across Howe Sound, and the only soundtrack is water against rock.
Aneeta & Christian chose it for their engagement session — and honestly, we'd have chosen it too.
Come as you are
She wore a simple white dress. He kept it easy in black and warm tan.
No overthinking the styling. On a coastline like this, the less you fuss, the more real it looks.
Slow light, zero stiff posing
We started in the soft, overcast light of late afternoon and let it turn gold as the day wound down.
If you've ever worried that engagement photos mean standing frozen while someone tells you to "look natural" — this is the antidote.
We gave them a rock to scramble up, a view to take in, a reason to laugh, and mostly got out of the way.
The best frames were the in-between ones. Her hand on his face mid-laugh. The two of them tucked into a windbreak of pine. A quiet look out at the islands.
The details you don't plan
Spring had left broom blooming yellow along the cliffs and a few last blossoms on the branches.
Aneeta held one up beside her ring, and that was the shot.
Later, a clear umbrella turned a grey-sky moment into something quietly editorial.
These are the small things nobody scripts and everybody remembers.
Staying for the blue hour
As the light dropped, we stayed.
Blue hour on the coast is its own reward — the water goes to pewter, the islands turn to silhouette, and a pair of sparklers is all you need to close the evening.
They ended the session laughing in the dark, sparks trailing between them.
